Q. Who can use tickets donated to Gameday for Heroes?
A. Gameday for Heroes tickets are for use by military members (retired, discharged under honorable conditions, active duty, guard or reserve) and their families and friends. All event registrations must be tied to one of our registered heroes.
Q. How can I register with Gameday for Heroes?
A. Registration is easy, visit www.gamedayforheroes.org/registration.html and follow the instructions on the form. Don't forget to include your attachment that proves military service!
Q. Is the Gameday for Heroes website the only place to find tickets?
A. Occasionally we will post small amounts of privately donated tickets on our Facebook page. We have found that this is the most efficient way to get the word out about tickets when it is a short notice event. Follow our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/gamedayforheroes to see all of our available events.
Q. What happens if I sign up for an event but don't get tickets?
A. While we work hard to ensure that everyone who signs up gets a ticket, there are times that we cannot match a donor to a hero's request. While the $2.00 per ticket registration fee is non-refundable, we do our best to match heroes to tickets up to the final hour prior to a game. Events held at Auburn University include a hospitality tailgate and watch party that all signed up heroes are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Q. How do you determine who gets tickets?
A. Bulk tickets of 10 or more are issued on a "first come, first served" basis. Meaning we start with the first registration and work our way down. Small batch tickets of 1-10 are issued through a random drawing for those that are registered heroes and have confirmed that they can 100% attend an event. On the rare occasions that we get a small amount of tickets, 1-9, to a high demand event, such as a bowl game, the Final Four or Championship Games, we run a nomination process where you can nominate a hero to win those tickets. All nominations are read by a selection committee from Gameday for Heroes and voted on to select a winner.
Q. Where does Gameday for Heroes get tickets from?
A. A large portion of our tickets are donated directly from the universities. However, we get several tickets from private and anonymous donors as well.
Q. Can I re-sell or transfer my Gameday for Heroes tickets?
A. NO! If you find that you cannot attend an event that you have tickets for, please email [email protected] or [email protected] to send the tickets back so that they can be used by the next hero in line. If it is found out that you have re-sold any Gameday for Heroes tickets, you will be blocked from future events.
Q. What nonprofit status does Gameday for Heroes maintain?
A. We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a 100% nonprofit, meaning all of our income goes directly to overhead and program costs. All of our employees are volunteers.
Q. Does Gameday for Heroes do anything besides provide tickets?
A. YES! We are a one-stop-shop of services and referrals for veterans who are transitioning to civilian life. We offer everything from mental health assistance to financial well-being assessment. You can find help with Traumatic Brain Injuries and Executive Coaching. Visit our Veterans' Resources page at www.gamedayforheroes.org/resources.html to learn more!
Q. How can I help?
A. We are always looking for volunteers to assist with various duties. If you are interested in volunteering, email [email protected]. We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with hosting hospitality tailgates as needed in the following markets: Clemson, University of South Carolina, Troy University and Texas A&M. It is important to know that hosting tailgates does not guarantee a ticket to any event. We also look for volunteers with various non-sporting related events and fundraising events. Lastly, we always accept one-time and recurring donations that can be set up at www.gamedayforheroes.org/donate.html
Q. What if I want to donate my tickets or donate specifically to buy tickets for heroes?
A. If you have tickets that you would like to donate, or a monetary donation that you would like earmarked for tickets, please email [email protected] or [email protected] for further instructions.
